Northern Nighthawks escape Southeast Falcons, 6-0

It was a rainy Thursday evening to decide the pecking order for two Guilford County football teams as the Northern Guilford Nighthawks downed the Falcons of Southeast Guilford in a hard-fought match up, 6-0. 

Southeast quarterback Alexander Marsh (senior) threw for 39 yards on five of 12 attempts. On the ground, Ian McKinnon (senior) rushed for 81 yards on only ten carries.

This season the Falcons have averaged 184.8 rushing yards per game, while the Nighthawks have averaged 247 yards. Southeast Guilford’s record stands at 2-3, while Northern remains undefeated at 5-0.

Southeast Guilford will fly from the nest to face the Tigers of Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northern Guilford, will remain at home on its perch and face the Cowboys of Southwest Guilford. The Nighthawks of Northern Guilford will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Game time is 7:30 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 4.
